This holistic psychology definition is based on my own approach which I have developed over the years. I am sure the future psychology will be helpful and empowering. Use this definition to measure whether a person, school or program is surely offering you holistic health or holistic psychology.
Many holistic health professionals
and holistic psychologists say they practice a holistic approach but they are frequently
doing the same old things in the same old way. They may use the same words, such as energy, freedom and yet they are not offering you a system that is empowering you. They are offering you a treatment, a technique an answer, just like traditional psychology and traditional medicine.
Use this holistic
psychology definition to measure all holistic psychologists, holistic psychology
schools, holistic health education, and holistic health schools to see if they are truly new, different
and serving your mind body spirit.
To qualify as a holistic approach, the practitioner must respect, honor and deal with your whole system. Not just one part of you.
In addition, to qualify as a genuine, holistic health treatment the approach must solve problems at their source instead of treating your symptoms. Any approach that works only with symptoms cannot be considered to be holistic.
A holistic psychology school program that teaches the typical labels, abnormal psychology and traditional theories are not part of the future, new psychology.
